Product Manager Training Portfolio

Location: Montreal, QC

Job Type: Full time - Permanent

Role Purpose

Own the business performance, market relevance, and strategic evolution of the training portfolio, ensuring it delivers clear customer value, commercial impact, and organizational outcomes.

This role is accountable for what training offerings exist, why they exist from a business and market perspective, and how they evolve to meet customer needs, revenue goals, and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Strategy & Business Analysis

  • Define and maintain the training portfolio strategy based on market needs, customer insights, and business priorities – liaising with relevant ACI committees as an observer
  • Analyse customer segments, use cases, and buying drivers to inform portfolio decisions
  • Ensure alignment with AMPAP and broader organisational objectives
  • Own portfolio structure, positioning, and long-term roadmap from a value and demand perspective

2. Product & Portfolio Lifecycle Management

  • Lead lifecycle decisions for training products (create, redesign, refresh, retire) based on performance data, customer feedback, and commercial viability
  • Assess business cases for new training products and major redesigns
  • Coordinate and oversee new product launches, acting as the business owner across Content, Operations, and Marketing
  • Ensure portfolio complexity remains manageable and scalable

3. Go-to-Market & Value Proposition

  • Define customer-facing value propositions, pricing logic, and margin targets
  • Translate portfolio strategy into clear commercial narratives for Marketing and Sales
  • Prepare the yearly marketing plan for the portfolio in collaboration with the Marketing Assistant Manager
  • Monitor and validate go-to-market execution with MarCom, using performance insights to adjust as needed

4. Content Responsibilities – INTERIM

(Until a dedicated Content Manager is hired)

  • Act as business owner of content, ensuring training offerings remain relevant, coherent, and aligned with portfolio strategy
  • Coordinate SMEs and instructors for updates and validation, focusing on fit-for-purpose and customer relevance
  • Ensure content readiness, quality standards, and version control from a delivery and value standpoint
  • Design and maintain content management documentation and decision frameworks

Future state

  • Operational content ownership transitions to the Content Manager
  • The Product Manager retains strategic oversight, prioritization, and approval authority

5. Financial Performance & Portfolio Insights

  • Prioritise product investments using business cases, ROI logic, and demand signals
  • Manage CAPEX planning and supporting documentation
  • Set, monitor, and explain margin and delivery guardrails
  • Track portfolio performance, relevance, and market fit using data and insights

6. Cross-Functional Business Coordination

  • Work closely with Training Operations & Enablement to balance commercial ambition with delivery feasibility
  • Partner with Content to ensure sustainability, clarity, and scalability of offerings
  • Collaborate with Marketing on positioning, messaging, and campaign priorities
  • Act as a bridge between strategy, operations, and market reality

  • Strong business analysis and strategic thinking
  • Ability to translate data, insights, and stakeholder input into clear decisions
  • Commercial acumen and financial literacy
  • Customer- and market-oriented mindset
  • Stakeholder influence and cross-functional leadership
  • Experience in B2B environments, sales enablement, or commercial roles
  • Product management experience preferred, with emphasis on business ownership rather than technical delivery
  • Agile / Scrum experience (certification desirable but not mandatory)
